Allyson Felix

Allyson Michel Felix was born on 18 November 1985 in Los Angeles. Her father Paul Felix is an ordained minister at Master's Seminary, Sun Valley. As for her mother, Marlean Felix is a teacher at Balboa Magnet Primary School. Felix demonstrated a talent for athletics early on discovering her athletic abilities while she was at the Los Angeles Baptist High School. Ten weeks after the first time she tried out, she was ranked second in 200m in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix graduated from high school and subsequently signed a pro-contract for Adidas. In 2004 she was enrolled at the University of Southern California, where her major was elementary education. Felix was awarded her first Olympic award at 2004's Summer Olympics In Athens Greece. Felix ran 200 meters in 22.18s which set a new junior world record. In 2005, she became the youngest world champion of 200 meters in the Helsinki World Championships. She was able to defend her title in 2007, beating her longtime Jamaican competitor Veronica Campbell. Felix was consistently at the top of the podium in her various competitions at the Olympics held at Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
